At dhp we always adhere to one simple rule; training must always follow the functional path. This concept is what defines our service. We believe that when the body has been optimized and all of the working musculature operates synergistically, the result is greater performance, reduction of injuries and a chiseled appearance. Regardless of age or current stature our system of training is very accommodating, developed with progressions that encourage increased flexibility and range of motion, integration of core and promotion of strength.
Our training environment speaks of these ideals. Don’t expect to find the typical “health club” environment with row upon row of selectorized equipment. These machines enable and segregate muscles which ultimately disrupts the functional relationship of movement. This type of training environment is a breeding ground for injury.
A health club is designed to process large volumes of members with minimal interaction. The equipment is “dummied down” to keep the user from harm but in so doing, limits the benefits that come from the type of education that functional training provides.
